Today I walked the nature trail with President Raymond and some friends. We got to enjoy the sunset and the flowers on a really beautiful night.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

The main barrier is me being forgetful or bringing a bag that is too small to carry a reusable bag. Going to places that don’t have water fountains also poses a barrier to finding refills, or if I don’t trust the tap water. It’s easy to make it a permanent habit at Haverford. Keeping one in my bag even if it isn’t full helps me to use it more often.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Rebecca Chen 4/11/2022 1:59 PM
Walking encourages me to take in my surroundings and interact with more people. I get to enjoy the fresh air, nature, and trees.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

As I’ve gotten more used to composting, I’ve realized how much we can divert from landfills! Today I composted a tea bag.
