I practice self care by making sure I feel comfortable and loved wherever I go, and if i feel down then I do something I enjoy, like listening to music or taking a relaxing shower.

What are other ways you could use the power of the sun to reduce your own environmental footprint?

    Everett Delp's avatar

Another way I can reduce my environmental footprint is by using the sun for energy or by growing more native plants to help the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

This does mot surprise me, because throwing away large amounts of food is normal in many households. I would use the extra money in a savings account for the future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

    Everett Delp's avatar
    Everett Delp 4/04/2022 6:01 PM
Animals cost a lot of money to properly raise, so richer countries have diets higher in meat. Eating more meat contributes more to your carbon footprint, because the air that animals breathe out adds extra to the CO2 in the atmosphere.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Everett Delp's avatar

I think the electricity I use is generated via solar panels, and this impacts the environment positively and negatively. First off, its a sustainable source of energy, so there is less CO2 produced. But, it takes up a lot of space, destroying sone animal’s habitats, such as birds or bugs that may live in forests.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

Practicing gratitude in your daily life is a great way to become aware of good things in your life instead of the bad things. Hopefully, you would want to increase these good things, so in that way it improves motivation.

I totally agree with you, Everett.  I helps me to see the positive and get out of a rut when I'm feeling like everything is terrible!
